A Cryptid Inspired Environment

This environment aims to tell a story using only visuals. The location and story is inspired by a Wendigo from cryptozoology.

This environment was setup in Unreal Engine 5, whilst most assets were modelled using 3ds Max. This environment was a personal project during my final year on the BA Games Art course at University of Stafforshire and encouraged me to explore various new asset creation techniques and workflows. I explored more organic sculpting in this project, which is portrayed through the sheep skull, whilst I also explored the use of SpeedTree to create higher quality, realistic trees.

I made this environment as I felt inspired to make something linked to cryptozoology, as there aren't many projects around that tend to explore this theme and it is personally something I find very interesting with a lot of potential for creativity. The aim of the project was to tell a story with three or four camera shots by using visual clues to indicate what may have happened on one tragic day at this farm in North America.
